![]() ![]() That's just one item, but it's representative of the kind of numbers you're dealing with to gear characters without trading. Having said that, if you've got no mf, it's going to take you quite a bit more than 200 runs to get anything good.Īgain assuming no mf, the odds of getting a shako from Andariel's quest drop - I sincerely hope your Andariel is quest bugged - is 1:1774. They drop from different TCs than the normal mobs.I would stick with hell andy. In general, you want to be a bit careful with bosses and super uniques. A unique in an 83 zone, including pindleskin, is level 86, and thus cannot drop arach, tyreals, or azurewrath. There are other viable strategies like unique pack farming in 83/84 areas or pindleskin that can work as well, with some drawbacks. But what boils down to is that you want to run the Alvl 85 areas if you want to find the TC87 items (diadems, unearthed wands, dimensional shards, etc.). The treasure class system in this game is complicated. That is, there are bosses who are also super uniques (who don’t follow Alvl but get the +3 bonus). Bosses are distinct from super uniques (who do follow Alvl), but they aren’t mutually exclusive. These are monsters like the prime evils and nihlithak (there are others as well, the most unusual being every putrid defiler). ![]() Boss monsters have hard coded levels that do not follow the area. Champions get a +2 bonus, and uniques get a +3 bonus. ![]() Normal monsters in the area will have mlvl=Alvl. The mlvl sets the item level (ilvl), which determines what sets/uniques are allowed to drop given a base item (like your example of a shako needs ilvl 69) and also what magical affixes are available. ![]() In nightmare and hell, the level of monsters (mlvl) is set by the level of the area (Alvl). ![]()
